Fever is the most common reason parents bring children to our outpatient clinic. While alarming, fever is actually proof that your child's immune system is actively fighting off an infection.

Safe Home Care Rules:

  • Keep Hydrated: Offer frequent sips of water, tender coconut water, diluted fresh juices, or ORS.
  • Light Clothing: Dress your child in light cotton clothing to allow body heat to dissipate naturally. Avoid heavy blankets.
  • Lukewarm Sponging: If fever is high, sponge with lukewarm tap water (never use cold water or alcohol).

When to Bring Your Child to Emergency:

Bring your child immediately if you observe: extreme drowsiness or difficulty waking, continuous crying, breathing difficulties or rapid chest indrawing, seizures/fits, or dark purple rash on the skin.
